Blue Ribbon Educational Consulting

Education is a lifelong process; everyone can learn.

DO YOU NEED ADVICE OR HELP WITH YOUR CHILD'S EDUCATION?

Are you an equal participant in planning your child's educational program?

Do you understand and utilize State and Federal Regulations that pertain to a Free and Appropriate Education (FAPE) ?

Blue Ribbon Educational Consulting is an independent educational consulting agency available to assist parents, students, and education systems in all aspects of education.

Independent educational consultants are professionals who assist families, students, and educators in making unbiased educational decisions for the benefit of a child. As an independent educational consultant, I:

  • Advocate for the child
  • Am skilled and experienced in determining the needs of the child and how a school can fulfill the needs
  • Can review IEPs, make recommendations and follow through with parents and school administrators to ensure IEP is being implemented
  • Will attend your  IEP, as needed or provide guidance to your prior to or after your IEP
  • Provide training/seminars to parents, parent groups (PTAs and support groups), and school districts on effective communication, IEPs, specific disabilities, LRE, co-teaching or other programs tailored to your needs
  • Provide disability awareness programs throughout the state

II can assist you in a variety of ways: phone calls, email, reviewing documents and testing, writing letters, and giving recommendations.

I am first and foremost a parent.  I have 2 children that are on opposite ends of the spectrum.  I want parents to be educated and knowledgeable about their rights.  But more importantly, I want parents to know how to negotiate the educational system to get the educational services their child needs and deserves.  As a special educator and parent of a child with a disability, I know how difficult and emotional the IEPs are to everyone at the table.  The advice I give is not legal but is based on my knowledge,  education and experience.
